Rushton Dog Rescue
Cindi (founder and owner of Rushton Dog Rescue charity) and I first met on a very windy wet summer day at a dog show in Weymouth. I was very impressed with her and her daughter Zoe’s way with dogs and she clearly had a lot of love and empathy for the dogs in her care. I offered my help with the rescue and since then we have been plotting and planning to bring the rescue into the 21st Century. Cindi moved to her new premises early in 2012 and has since been inundated with dogs in need of a forever home.
Due to that fact she has been unable, to get the infrastructure sorted at the new premises. This is now our plan and very quickly once we put the word out, we have been sent offers of kennels, fencing, beds, grooming equipment and beyond.
I have not worked with a rescue before but have a huge amount of experience with rescue dogs, people welcoming their new pride and joy into their new homes, then finding out that there are some underlying behaviour issues that they need help and support with.
Our aim at Rushton is to give more support before and after the dog is re-homed, so these dogs find their forever home. They have had enough upset in their lives without being passed around further from pillar to post. We care and our care doesn’t start and stop with you choosing your dog.
I will be doing talks in 2013 for new owners but in the meantime there is free supporting paper work for each new owner and the opportunity to book a consultation with me for a reduced price.
